Most of the IECL doctoral students belong to the doctoral school IAEM (Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanics)
Do not hesitate to contact them for any question.
- The thesis topics are presented on the IECL page and on the ADUM website.
- To submit a subject on the IECL page, contact Frédéric Robert. For the ADUM site, connect directly.
- To apply for a subject, you must go through the ADUM site, which allows to centralize all the requests.
- The entire registration procedure is done via ADUM
- There can be only 2 supervisors for a given thesis (3 for a cotutelle)
- If you do not have an Habilitation to Supervise Research, you must request an Authorization to Co-supervise a Thesis (ACT) from the Doctoral School
- A cotutelle is an agreement between 2 institutions: the winner of the thesis will hold two degrees (one per institution)
- The drafting of a cotutelle agreement can take time: start the procedure as soon as you begin your thesis. You can ask Frédéric Robert for information about this procedure.
- The ADUM website is always preferred for any information or activity during the thesis.
- The main part of the thesis is the research work under the direction of a supervisor. However, there are training courses to follow: these courses are there to give you complements in the framework of your research or to prepare you for the post-thesis period. Registrations are made via the ADUM interface
- The thesis follow-up committee is an opportunity to present the progress of your work (see below)
- The follow-up committee allows the doctoral student to present the progress of his/her work to people other than his/her supervisor(s)
- Its annual meetings are an opportunity for informal exchanges on the subject, the work, and the material conditions.
- The purpose of these meetings is to detect possible difficulties in the progress of the thesis, and to propose solutions in consultation with the supervisors and doctoral students.
- Exceptional meetings can take place on request of the supervisors or doctoral students
- It must take place before the end of each year of the thesis. It is mandatory from the 3rd year registration onwards.
- Constitution: the monitoring committee is composed of scientific personalities who are not linked to the thesis work
- The thesis must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the scheduled defense date
- The rapporteurs must not be involved in the thesis work
- The composition of the jury must follow precise rules
- The manuscript must be written in French. Exceptions are possible
- The oral examination must take place in French. Here again, exceptions are possible
- The website Opération Postes lists most of the positions of Lecturers and Professors in France, as well as some other positions
- For applications to the CNU, qualification is required. For a recruitment in the year N, be aware of the deadline of defense for the year N-1
